Ernestine Loma Pruett, affectionately known as 'Tine' or 'Tina,' departed this world on January 15, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories. Born on August 7, 1924, in Grayson, GA and living most of her life in Atlanta, Ernestine dedicated her life to spreading joy and building meaningful connections.
A devoted employee of Arthur Andersen Consulting, Ernestine spent the majority of her working years with passion and dedication, forming lasting bonds with her colleagues whom she considered a second family. Her commitment to her work was a testament to her character and unwavering spirit.
Ernestine's love for exploration took her to far corners of the globe, with some of her most cherished memories crafted in Europe-specifically in Italy, Greece, Switzerland, and the UK. She marveled at the wonders of China and Hong Kong, reveled in the beauty of Hawaii, and explored both the eastern and western parts of Canada. Each adventure was a testament to her curiosity and appreciation for the world's diverse cultures.
Back in Atlanta, she found solace and joy in her community at First Baptist Church of Atlanta, where she actively participated in ministry and cherished the fellowship of like-minded souls. She was also a dedicated volunteer at In Touch Ministries for several years (the teaching ministry of Dr. Charles Stanley, Pastor of First Baptist Atlanta until 2020) Her faith was an integral part of her life, providing strength and comfort in times of both joy and sorrow.
A lover of games, Ernestine spent countless hours engaged in friendly competition, whether it be playing bridge or enjoying the 'Mexican Train' dominoes game. These moments of laughter and camaraderie brought her immense joy and forged lasting bonds with friends old and new.
For the last six years of her life, Ernestine resided at King's Bridge retirement community, where she formed deep connections with friends, relished an active social life, participated in several Bible studies, and continued her passion for games. The community became a second home, a place filled with warmth and companionship.
Ernestine is predeceased by her parents, Ernest G. Pruett and Loma Lelier Farriba Pruett, as well as her sister and brother-in-law, Nedra Ethridge and Nash Ethridge, her brother and sister-in-law, William S.
