Eugene A. Medori, Jr., 70, of Stone
Mountain, GA, passed away Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, surrounded by family. Gene was born in Brooklyn, NY, Sept. 7, 1942, to Eugene A. Medori, Sr., and Mary Macario Medori. He attended Hackensack High School in NJ, and graduated from Emory University with both his undergraduate and Doctor of Jurisprudence degrees. He was a special agent with the FBI before serving as Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia. He formed a law partnership in Decatur in 1973 and practiced law until his semi-retirement five years ago, recently serving as occasional hearing officer for DeKalb County and Atlanta Public School Boards. He was a proud member of the Georgia Bar Association for 47 years. Gene enjoyed playing golf and tennis, traveling with good friends, visiting St. Simons Island, reading history, and dancing with his wife. His greatest pleasure came from spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Macario Medori. He is survived by his loving wife, Claudia Howle Medori; daughters Amanda Hallauer (Todd), Melissa Medori, and Michele Medori; grandsons Leonel and Jasper Hallauer; father Eugene A. Medori, Sr.; stepmother Mary C. Medori; brother Steven Medori (Anne); sister Francine Franke (Tim); niece Allison Franke; nephews Joe Medori, Kyle Franke and Josh Franke; a host of Italian cousins, aunts and uncles; and an extended Southern family by marriage. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, Aug. 13, 11:00 a.m., at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Stone Mountain, GA.
