Eunice Mitcham Rojas, 77, of Atlanta, GA, passed away January 23, 2018. She was born in Sandersville, GA, the eldest daughter of the late Rev. Harry L. Mitcham, Sr. and Marion Smith Mitcham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Henry Mitcham.
She is survived by her husband, Carlos Rojas of Atlanta, her children, Carlos Rojas of Durham, NC, and Eunice Rojas of Lynchburg, VA, her three brothers Harry L. Mitcham, Jr., Jon M. Mitcham, and David A. Mitcham, all of Bremen, GA, her sister Nancy M. Little of Hoschton, GA, and her six grandchildren whom she adored, Luodan, Teo, and Quince Rojas of Durham, NC, Liam and Owen Rojas and Julia Crim of Lynchburg, VA, and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
Eunice Mitcham Rojas served for many years as a research librarian at Emory University in Atlanta. She was a loving, supportive, and self-sacrificing mother and adoring grandmother. She was also an avid gardener, loved to walk around barefoot outside in nice weather, and rarely met a mystery novel she didn’t like. Visitation schedule is from 10:30 am – 11:30 am on Saturday, February 3 at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home in Decatur. A private interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta at 12 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Thomas Mitcham Memorial Scholarship Fund at Young Harris College, Young Harris, GA, 30582.
