Evelyn Cleland Barrett, age 94, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2010. She was the youngest of eleven children born to Walter and Clair Cleland of Westminster, SC. She and her late husband, Ralph (Rock) Barrett lived in the Decatur area for over seventy years. A graduate of Brenau College, Mrs. Barrett devoted her life to volunteering at the Cancer Clinic in Atlanta, Red Cross, and the Boys and Girls Club. She was a member of Decatur First Baptist Church and a charter member of the Elizabeth McClain Sunday School Class. She taught Sunday School in the toddler department. She is survived by her niece, Clair Ann Smith of Decatur; and three nephews, Ronny, Donny and James Barrett of Alabama. She is also survived by two great nephews, Matthew Smith (Jane), of Atlanta and Stuart Smith (Candi)of Asheville, NC and 5 great, great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be announced later.
