Evelyn Wade White

Mrs. Evelyn Wade White passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2007. She was born August 5, 1917 in Lithonia, Georgia to Roger and Lessie Wade. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. White. Evelyn graduated from the Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville and was an elementary school teacher before her marriage. She lived with her family for many years in Avondale Estates and moved to Clairmont Place in her later years. She was a long time member of Decatur First United Methodist Church and the Paty Sunday School Class. She is survived by two daughters, Kathryn Hunt and son-in-law, Steve, Martha Coursey and son-in-law, Jeff; three grandchildren, Marc Hunt, Raleigh King, and Dr. Courtney Moreno; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Eloise Shepard; and a brother, J. Paul Wade; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 28th in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Rev. Frank Brock officiating. Interment Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
