With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ezequiel Jesus Rivero, a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who left this world surrounded by the love of his family.
Ezequiel was a man of unwavering strength, boundless love, and unshakable faith in the power of family. He was born in Cuba on April 10, 1929 and lived there until 1969, at which time he made the courageous decision to leave his homeland with his beloved wife, Olga, and their two young children, seeking a brighter future in the United States. His journey was one of sacrifice, resilience, and profound love, always ensuring that his family had the best opportunities life could offer.
A proud Freemason, Ezequiel carried the values of brotherhood, integrity, and service throughout his life. From his early days as a Mason in Cuba to his many years as a dedicated member of the Tucker Masonic Lodge #42 in Georgia, he lived by the principles of honor and charity. He was also a Yaarab Shriner and a devoted member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry for over 50 years, giving his time and heart to the causes he believed in.
Above all, Ezequiel was a family man. His love for his wife, Olga, was steadfast and true, a partnership built on deep devotion for more than 68 years. He took immense pride in his children, Giraldo Rivero (Isabel Rivero), Marlene Marquez (Albert Marquez), and Janene Rutschilling (Alan Rutschilling), guiding them with wisdom, patience, and love.
Nothing brought him greater joy than being "Abuelo" to his cherished grandchildren, Arlene Marquez (Jason Sturgis), Michael (deceased) , and Jasen Rivero (Shauna) and great-grandchildren Ella and Alejandro Sturgis, and Aiden Rivero. Their laughter and presence filled his heart with endless happiness, and he took great delight in sharing his stories, wisdom, and unconditional love with them.
Ezequiel's legacy of love and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His family and friends will forever remember his warm smile, wise words, and generous spirit. Ezequiel taught us that life is not measured by what we acquire but by the love we give, the lives we touch, and the values we leave behind. Though he is no longer physically with us, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
