Mr. F. Allen Shealy, age 88, of Decatur passed away Saturday, April 11, 2009. He was born in Tennille, GA on July 15, 1920, the son of Felix Andrew Shealy and Mabel B. Shealy. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha King Shealy. Mr. Shealy graduated from high school and junior college, from Georgia Military College, Milledgeville, GA and graduated from the University of Georgia. He served his country in the United States Army and the United States Air Force, retiring as a Lt. Col. He served in the 2nd Air Force HDQ 303 Bomb Group and was a member of the American Legion Post 134. Mr. Shealy joined the Decatur Lions Club in 1954, serving as President and also Cabinet Secretary for the District Governor, serving in many charitable projects that the Lions Club sponsored. He was a member of the DeKalb Grand Juror Association. Mr. Shealy joined the First Baptist Church of Decatur in 1951 and served as secretary of the Alert Sunday School class for over 40 years. He retired from Progress Paint Company, Industrial Division in 1995. He is survived by his son, Stephens A. Shealy and his wife Judy; sister, Mrs. Gene S. Williamson; and brother, Earl Shealy. Memorial services will be held at Clairmont Lakes, 2100 Clairmont Rd., Decatur at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 14th.
