Felicitas Burgos Gomez passed away peacefully on April 27, 2020 at the age of 84. Felicitas was born to loving parents that passed away at an early age and grew up under the care of her Godparents. She is survived by one daughter and three sons. Felicitas was always a proud and caring grandma “Abuela, Babushka or Ababa" and is also survived by her six grandchildren. Early in her career she was an educational video editor for the government of Puerto Rico. She later learned that she was a salesperson extraordinaire and sold everything from encyclopedias, jewelry and crystal ware. Not only was she a talented salesperson she was also an entrepreneur who started her own ceramics school. Felicitas was a woman ahead of her time, she loved yoga and nutrition all of her life. She would always warn against the dangers of not eating healthy or using aluminum to cook. Felicitas courageously sold her business in Puerto Rico and forged ahead to move to the United States with her four children. She moved around in support of her children to several states before finally establishing herself in Atlanta, Georgia. She was a devoted mother who worked hard to take care and ensure a college education to all her children. "Mami or Abuela" depending who you ask was always there to babysit, support and cheer on her children and grandchildren. Due to the circumstances of the COVID-19 virus, there will be a small vigil service on Sunday, May 3, with Deacon Erik Wilkinson of Immaculate Health of Mary (IHM) officiating. Arrangements are being handled by AS Turner and Sons. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church (IHM).
