Mrs. Ferrel Carey Tyner, 78, of Decatur died Thursday May 14, 2009. Mrs. Tyner was born September 7, 1930 and raised up in the Shiloh Community. She began her career caring for children at Scottish Rite and retired from Georgia Regional Hospital. Mrs. Tyner was preceded in death by her sister Gladys Carey. A loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, surviving her are her husband of 59 years, Quinton Tyner; daughters and son-in-law, Sylvia Tyner Faucett and Robert C. Faucett, III, Cheryl Tyner; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sisters, Sybil Schoyen, Marie Young, Linda Wickliffe; brothers, Wallace Carey, Martin Carey, Larion Carey, Raleigh Carey and Ross Carey; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 16th at 11:00 AM at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church, Danielsville, with Rev. Susan Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the churchyard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, 1687 Tullie Circle, NE, Atlanta, GA 30329; ATT: Gift Processing, or any other Children’s Hospital.
