Fleta Maddox Jones
May 14, 1926 - March 28, 2014

Heaven has just received a most beautiful angel, Fleta Maddox Jones, of Monroe, GA. "I've lived a long time and I've had a good life," she often remarked. Those that know her will tell you that she saw the good in every person. One never saw her without a smile on her face no matter how her day might be going. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ralph Jones and their baby daughter, along with her mother, Dollie Mae Walker Maddox, and father Elon Knight Maddox; six brothers, Hoyt, Doyal, L.N, Archie, Carlton and Bennie. She is survived by her sister, Mary Maddox Ford of Decatur, and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Born in Lithonia, GA, and raised in Scottdale, GA, when just a mere child herself, she helped take care of seven siblings while her mother worked in the Scottdale Cotton Mill. During the war she and her dear
friend, Marie Hicks of Scottdale, worked together at the Bell Bomber
Plant in Marietta assisting in the American war effort.She was a caregiver to many and had volunteered her time in the past at the Veteran's Administration in Decatur. There are no words to express how greatly she will be missed. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home in Decatur on Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Visitation is from 1 pm to 2 pm Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Rehoboth Cemetery, Tucker, GA. A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
