Floyd H. Wilson, Sr., 80, of Decatur, died Saturday, February 23 2008, after a brave and courageous battle with leukemia. He was born in Decatur, Georgia on August 27, 1927 to the late Colie and Annie Mae Wilson. He was the fourth of fourteen children. Floyd is survived by his wife and faithful companion of 63 years, Peggy E. Wilson; daughter, Elaine W. Welch and husband Paul Welch, Sr.; daughter, Patricia A. Landress; son, Floyd H. Wilson, Jr. and wife Sherry Wilson; grandchildren, Melony Westphal, Paul Welch, Jr., Floyd H. Wilson, III, Peggy Welch Bush and husband Ken Bush, and John Tyler Wilson; great grandchildren, John Broom and Tiffany Westphal, and a third great grandchild due to arrive in May. He is also survived by brothers, Billy Wilson, Henry Wilson, Colie Wilson, Jr.; sisters, Sara Pumo, Jeannette Martin, Mary Ann Godwin and Annie Mae Shulenberger; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by brothers, Louie, Curtis, Roy Howard, Russell and Herbert Wilson and sister, Doris Lockwood. Floyd was a life long member of Rehoboth Baptist Church. He was a home builder and land developer by trade. Floyd enjoyed spending time with his family, and tending to his cows, Beagles and land. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 26th at Rehoboth Baptist Church with Rev. Rusty Womack officiating. Interment, Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
