Foye Redd Chapman, age 92, of Decatur, GA passed away peacefully on August 6, 2014. She was born in Mt. Pleasant, AL to the late John Henry and Eva Thompson Redd, the fourth of six daughters. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Bonnie Boone, Lucille Mosely, Agness McDuffie, Johnnie Pressley, and Wynell Thames. She is survived by her husband, C. Ray Chapman; daughter, Lynda Williams and husband Edward; granddaughter Beth Lee and husband Kevin; grandson Brad Williams and wife Denise; great granddaughter, Megan Lee and great grandsons, Burton, Ian, Fletcher and Oliver Williams. She is also survived by many special neices and nephews.
She was a dedicated Civil Servant employee beginning her career in the 1940s and retiring from the CDC in 1980. Foye was a long time member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the Mariners Sunday School class and the United Methodist Women. She valued family above all else and dedicated her life to loved ones and friends. Through out her life and well into her later years, she was an ardent visitor to the sick and elderly. She is remembered for her strength of character, selflessness, courage, and devotion to her family.
