Frances Evelyn Griffin

Frances Evelyn Griffin was called home on May 4, 2014. Born on April 23, 1929, one of eleven children to Walter and Irene Dorsey of Cleveland, Georgia. Evelyn was a lifelong residence of Decatur, Georgia. She was a past member of Wesley Chapel UMC and long time member of Avondale Pattillo UMC. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she was also very active in her JOY Sunday school class, the United Methodists Women circle and served on various church committees. Evelyn was also a member of Starlight Chapter 421 where she was Worthy Matron and served as Secretary for many years. She was preceded in death by husband William Walter Reagan, husband Charlton Jafroy Griffin and grandson Jacob Walter Reagan. She is survived by son William Douglas Reagan, brother Benny Dorsey, grandson John Douglas (Pam) Reagan, granddaughters Heather and Annalise Reagan. Also survived by sons Don Griffin, Darrell (Bernice) Griffin, Dean (Theresa) Griffin, Dave (Gail) Griffin with ten additional grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Thursday May 8, 2014 at 11:00 am at Avondale Pattillo UMC with Rev. John Paul Donaldson officiating interment will follow at Decatur Cemetery. Family will receive friends Wednesday May 7, 2014 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
