Frances "MeMa" Smith, 97, of Stockbridge, beloved wife and mother, died Monday, July 3, 2017. Born May 20, 1920, in Thomson, GA, she was the daughter of the late Beverly Allen and Florence Waddell Anchors.
MeMa is survived by her three sons, Melvin A. Smith and his wife, Gail, Dr. Alan D. Smith and his wife, Stephanie, and Don S. Smith and his wife, Jane; six grandchildren Julie Carter, Scott Smith, Melanie Weekley, Amber Dawson, Jordan Smith, and Kimberly Wilder; nine great grandchildren, Grace Dawson, Kaison and Ryder Smith, Brooks, Colson and Collins Weekley, Elodie Carter, Adalyn Smith, and Emma Wilder; and many more loving family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, M. A. Smith.
A celebration of MeMa's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at The Church at Decatur Heights, 735 Sycamore Drive Decatur, GA 30030 with her son and pastor officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Church at Decatur Heights Special Ministry Fund.
