Francis Marion "Flew" Flewellen went to be with Lord on March 20, 2005. He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Martha. He is survived by his two sons, Dan Flewellen (Chicago, Illinois), and Jim Flewellen (Wheaton, Illinois); two grandchildren, Caitlin and Tyson; as well as his sister, Peggy Taylor (Alexandria, Louisiana) and family. Flew was born on April 5, 1922 in Stamps. Arkansas. His family later moved to Alexandria, Louisiana. Flew served in the U.S. Navy in World War II as a signalman on ships in the Caribbean Sea, Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean Sea and Pacific Ocean. He was a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology and worked after graduation through retirement for the Georgia Department of Transportation. A lifelong member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Flew was heavily involved in worldwide missionary efforts. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. Chuck Frost officiating. A graveside service will follow at Westview Cemetery.
