Francis Milner McCullough, age 107 of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, formerly a resident of Clairmont Place in Decatur, Georgia, passed away on November 26, 2015. He was born in Talbotton, Georgia on September 11, 1908. His parents were The Rev. Francis Milner McCullough, Sr. of Blountsville, Georgia and Frances Octavia Holloway of Durham, North Carolina. His early years were spent in several small towns in middle and south Georgia. In 1930 he went to Washington, D.C. and entered a forty year career with the Federal Government. While there he was able to complete college obtaining a degree from George Washington University. In 1941 he returned to Georgia and resided in the Atlanta-Decatur area until moving to North Carolina in 2010. In 1949 he was married to Sarah Frances Greer and enjoyed sixty years of a happy marriage with her until her death. For most of his adult life he was a member of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian denomination and had the honor of being a Ruling Elder for over fifty years. At death he was a member of the Peachtree Corners Congregation. Survivors include numerous cousins and in-laws in Georgia and the Carolinas, but no immediate family members.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, November 29th at A. S. Turner and Sons, 2773 North Decatur Road, Decatur, Georgia. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel at A. S. Turner and Sons at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 30th. Interment will follow the service at Prosperity Cemetery, 5659 Peachtree Road, Chamblee, Georgia. The Rev. Doctor Randy Ruble will officiate.
