Francis Wade Gibson

Rev. Francis W. Gibson, age 91, of Decatur, GA, went home to our Lord and Savior, Tuesday, January 3, 2017.


Bro. Frances served in various church positions in Alabama, and pastored Cleveland Ave. Baptist Church in Atlanta; Kennesaw First Baptist; Trion First Baptist Church; Headland Heights Baptist Church in East Point, GA and Salem Baptist Church in Shiloh, GA. Bro. Francis was a WWII Veteran. He loved God and served Him well. He has taught a lot of people about the Love of God, but more importantly - he showed them.

Bro. Francis is survived by David Gibson of Macon, Steve Gibson (Jolinda) of Talking Rock, Emily Gibson (David Long) of Decatur, and Nancy Owens (Woody) of Macon; his brothers, Roy Gibson of Hapeville and Ralph Gibson of Columbus; seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that donations be made in memory of Rev. Gibson to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at Turner & Sons Funeral Home Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a viewing 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
