Frank Edward Johnson, 84, born in Atlanta, GA, entered into eternal rest at his home in Vero Beach, FL on November 5, 2009. He was preceded by his wife of 38 years, Helen, sisters, Georgia Witt Kelley and Mildred Davis, brother Grady A. Thompson, and brother in law Fred M. Kemp. Survivors include sister, Mary W. Kemp, brother in law James D. Kelley, and grandchildren Lacy, Lane, Alyssa, Emily, Andrew, Austin, Preston and Isabella. A loving family of friends, nieces, nephews, and all of his four-legged and wildlife friends will miss him dearly. Ed retired from the Navy as an E6 in 1967 and participated in the Amphibious Forces Invasion of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Ed also earned the distinguished “Golden Glove” early in his Navy career. Ed was a dedicated member of the Shriners in Atlanta, GA and also retired from DeLong Equipment after 24 years of service. Graveside services will be held at Decatur Cemetery at 10:00 am on Tuesday November 10.
