Frank Jackson Rhodes, Jr. passed away unexpectedly on March 26, 2015. He was born in Savannah on November 7, 1947 to Frank Jackson Rhodes, Sr. and Mary Wheeler Rhodes. He moved with his family to Stone Mountain and graduated from Stone Mountain High School.
He attended Emory University and received a degree in accounting in 1969. Upon graduating, he married his college sweetheart, Barrie Boone.
He went on to serve as a Naval Supply Officer and was stationed in Key West, Florida. Upon completion of his service, he returned to Atlanta and received a law degree from Emory University. He spent his entire legal career practicing in Decatur with Weekes and Candler and McCurdy Candler.
He is survived by his wife and two sons, Frank Jackson Rhodes III (Virginia) of Atlanta and Bartly Dean Rhodes (Allison) of Savannah. His four grandchildren are James Bartly Rhodes, Frank Jackson Rhodes IV, Thomas Boone Rhodes, and William King Rhodes. He is also survived by two sisters, Jane Dean Rhodes of Stone Mountain and Mary Robin Rhodes of Avondale, and his sister-in-law, Cindy Rhodes of Stone Mountain. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ferry Wheeler Rhodes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Camp Sunshine or a charity of your choice.
