Frank Marvin Osborne

Frank Marvin Osborne of Decatur, GA, entered this life on February 5, 1916 and graduated from it to join the throngs of heaven 94 years later on Saturday, November 6, 2010.  Frank is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Ruth Leola Osborne, his son, Wayne Osborne, daughters Gloria White, Brenda Hallenbeck and Sharon Robison, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  Until recently, he and Ruth lived in the home they built themselves on Austin Drive in Decatur over 60 years ago.  More recently they have been residents at Noble Village Assisted Living in Suwanee. “Mister Frank’s” life is best described as one of service.  He served with his body, his heart and his hands.  As a veteran of WWII he served his country with his body.  But he also served His Lord with his heart.  He was an active member at several churches, including Glen Haven Baptist, Rowland Hills Baptist, Rockbridge Baptist and Decatur Heights Baptist churches. He served in many capacities including Chairman of deacons, Sunday School teacher and Bible study leader.  He now meets His Lord and Savior, Jesus, as a well-known friend with whom he walked and talked throughout his lifetime. Finally, Mr. Osborne served with his hands.  Working well into his 80’s he was an orthopedic appliance builder for those with special needs.  He worked for C.H. Martin Company in downtown Atlanta for over 50 years and helped people throughout the Atlanta area and beyond.  Finally his survivors get to serve him as arrangements are being made.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 9, at 10:30 am in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home in Decatur, GA. Interment, Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 pm at A. S. Turner & Sons.
