Franklin Alewine, Jr.

March 6, 1921 — July 29, 2012

Franklin Alewine Jr., 91, of Lilburn, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2012. He was born in Atlanta to William Franklin Alewine Sr. and Ruby Mae Jones. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and went on to retire from Georgia Power after 48 years of service as a Line Foreman. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Miriam Alewine, his two daughters and their husbands; Vickie and Edde Dalton, Jackie and Ken Clonts, four Grandsons: Jeff Clonts, Brian Clonts, Jeramie Dalton and Barry Dalton, two great grandsons: Gaines Clonts and Jake Dalton, and his great granddaughter Harper Clonts. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 2 in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons with Rev. Edde Dalton officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Peachtree Christian Hospice: 3430 Duluth Park Lane, Duluth, GA 30096. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 PM at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
