Fred L. King passed away February 27, 2005 at Hospice Atlanta. Mr. King was born in Erwin, TN on May 13, 1922 to the late Will King and Lucy Denny Armstrong King. He is preceded in death by his wife Margaret Fulton King and is survived by his son, Tom Likens and his wife Peggy of Helena, Montana and two grandchildren Jess Likens of Chicago, and Amanda Likens of Savannah. He is also survived by two brothers, Charles King and his wife Ruth of Erwin, TN, and Joe King of New York, NY. Mr. King was preceded in death by his two brothers Bill King and Harry King, and a sister Katheryn King. Mr. King was beloved by numerous nieces and nephews, and touched the lives of many children through his magic and as a Shriner's clown, "Friendly Fred." Mr. King was a decorated World War II veteran and was a teacher and counselor in the Atlanta school system. Services will be held Wednesday, March 2 at Briarcliff United Methodist Church at noon. The family will receive friends and family from 11 to 12 at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Briarcliff United Methodist Church or to a tsunami relief organization. A. S. Turner & Sons
