Mr. Fred Lee Clark, Jr., 83, of Decatur, GA died on Sunday, July 17, 2011. Born in LaFayette, GA, Fred was an avid amateur pilot, big band music fan and banana pudding enthusiast. He joined the United States Navy in 1945 so he could follow his brother, Wesley into the service. Recruited from a mill team in Alabama by the Pittsburgh Pirates, Fred attended Baseball University in Bartow, FL. He became a Certified Public Accountant and last worked at Smith, Adcock and Company in Atlanta until he retired and moved to Manchester, GA. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jones Clark; his four children, Randy Clark, Cindy Clark, Cathy Clark and Christy Clark and son-in-law, Mike Bayne. He is also survived by his siblings, Bettye Clark Ryder, Dan Clark and Barbara Clark Webb. He was predeceased by his parents, Fred Lee Clark, Sr. and Margaret Davis Clark and his brother, Wesley Clark. Graveside services will be held Friday, July 22nd at 12:30 P.M. at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA, with Rev. Larry T. Burgess officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Support Wounded Warrior Project.com., in Mr. Clark's memory. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at A. S. Turner & Sons.
