Mr. Fred W. Minter, 89, of Decatur died Tuesday, November 24, 2009. Mr. Minter served in the U. S. Army during World War II and in the war in Korea. A member of the bar in the State of Georgia since 1949, he was a private practice attorney for over 50 years in DeKalb County, having served some families through three generations. He was a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the DeKalb Bar Association. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Miriam Dupree Minter; daughter, Darlene Minter of Snellville; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Cathy Minter of Lawrenceville; three grandchildren, Kassie Minter, Zac Minter, Chance Hylton; and one sister, Dorothy M. Henson of Thomaston. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 28, at 1:00 pm in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons. Rev. James R. Styles will officiate. Interment will be at Resthaven Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 on Friday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
