Frederick Wilharm Crawford, 86, of Atlanta, passed away on July 31, 2019. He was born on January 1, 1933 to Frederick and Billie (Brett) Crawford in Waycross, GA. He graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in Civil Engineering. After graduation he served as a 1LT in the USAF. After the Air Force Frederick worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation as a Engineer. He then worked for Shepherd Construction Co, rising to an executive position within the company. He played an active role in the Georgia Highway Contractors Association. In his leisure time he enjoyed sailing at Lake Lanier Sailing Club and shaping future leaders with Boy Scouts. In his later years he enjoyed spending time with his family in the mountains of North Carolina. Frederick was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Wilharm Crawford, Sr., mother, Billie (Brett) Crawford and first wife Gloria (Garrison) Crawford in 2003. He is survived by his loving spouse Lula D. Crawford (Doolin), two sons, Frederick A. Crawford, David & Angela Crawford, and stepson Neal Dean, all of Atlanta; two daughters, Juanita & William Wooden of Indianapolis, Indiana, Kimberly & Reuhl Dabolt of Sanford, North Carolina and stepdaughter Renee LeClair of Atlanta; fifteen grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of other extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2019, 2:00 pm at the A S Turner and Sons Funeral Home, Decatur, GA. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Following the service, Frederick will be laid to rest the Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Services are being provided by A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home, in Decatur, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to the Shepherd Center.
