Gail Patrick Msezane had a wonderful, caring, adventurous, and enthusiastic spirit. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. She passed away at home at the age of 66, with her family by her side. She was blessed to spend this life with her loving husband of 42 years, Alfred, her two children, Temba and Lambda (Josh), and her two grandchildren Jake and Allie. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth. Gail was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan and pursued a career as an educator, first as a teacher and progressing to her proud achievement as Principal of Saint Thomas More School. She was a great leader, including liberating Alfred from the Apartheid system of South Africa. Gail and Alfred lived in South Africa, Ontario, New Brunswick, and Louisiana, before settling in Atlanta, Georgia. Gail loved her travels with Alfred throughout the world, with her Aunt Mary to her homeland the Ukraine, and with her friends. She will be remembered for her generosity, strength and zest for life, and for being a wonderful wife, mother, friend, sister and teacher. We are very grateful to Doctor John Eley, Cassie Brown, and Gail's friends for the loving care they gave her, especially in her last months. A Memorial mass will be held at Saint Thomas More church, 2 pm, Friday, May 6. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Gail Msezane Memorial Scholarship Fund at St. Thomas More School, or to the charity of your choice.
