Gary Leo Anderson

Gary Leo Anderson was born to Grover Cleveland and Nora Anderson in Toombs County on March 4, 1939. He graduated from Stetson University with a business degree and because of his participation in ROTC was a LT COL while stationed at Ft Benning in Columbus. When he moved to Atlanta, he joined First Baptist Atlanta where he met and married Patricia Atkinson in 1963. Their first daughter, Mary Jean (Jeannie) was born in 1965 and then their second daughter Tricia Cile (Anderson) Newmyer was born in 1970. He retired from from Bellsouth after 30 years with the company. GARY has previously served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and he and his wife Pat are active members of the Eternal Seekers SS class. Gary is survived by his wife Patricia of 54 years, oldest daughter Jeannie her husband Scott Miller; their six children, Elisabeth and Michael Marks, their daughter Mary Katherine, Christopher and Courtney Miller and their son Emmitt Paul, Christina and Damian Mahone and their daughter Merci Grace, Nicholas Miller and fiancée Samantha, Michael and McKenna Miller; also survived by other daughter Tricia Cile (Anderson) Newmyer and husband Tim Newmyer and their sons Daniel and Sam Newmyer. GARY also has four living sisters Violet and Viola McKenzie , Betty Jo Mayo, and Glenda Tarver. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. His funeral service will be at First Baptist Church, Atlanta. Visitation at 10 am and service following that at 11 am. Burial will be at Ten Mile Baptist Church in Baxley, Georgia. In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Global Missions Dept., First Baptist Church, Atlanta.
