Gay Lynn Garner

August 27, 1937 — January 20, 2011

Gay Lynn Garner, 73, of Decatur, died January 20, 2011. A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Mrs. Garner was a graduate of The Julliard School of Music. She was a jazz pianist in several venues in Atlanta. Her love of music entertained many. Mrs. Garner was a longtime volunteer with the Masonic Order and Scottish Rite. She was a great sponsor and friend to many. As a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she touched the lives of many and will leave a void to all who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Al Garner; daughters, Julie Moore of Lilburn, Lori Morson of Tucker and Alison Smith of Tucker; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Peggy Pappas of Charlotte NC; brother, Robert Smith of Plattsburg NY. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Rite Care Clinic, c/o Scottish Rite Foundation, 1687 Tullie Cir, Atlanta GA 30329.
