Geneva Jones

Alton Jones passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017. Born September 23, 1921, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late John Clarence and Ruth Morris Jones. His wife of 76 years, Geneva, born February 20, 1922, in Levonia, to the late Robert Verner and Lula Smith Fulghum, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017. It was love at first site after meeting at a picnic. They were devoted to their church and family. Alton was a Mason and Geneva enjoyed cooking and serving big family dinners.

They are survived by their son, Danny and his wife, Anna Jones; son-in-law, Robert Singleton; two grandchildren, Chris Jones and Stacey Singleton; and many more loving family and friends.

In addition to their parents, Alton and Geneva were preceded in death by their daughter, Darlene Singleton.

The Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00pm on Tuesday evening, March 7, 2017, at A. S. Turner and Sons.

A celebration of the lives of Mr. Alton and Mrs. Geneva Jones will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, in the chapel of A.S. Turner & Sons, 2773 North Decatur Road Decatur, GA 30033. Interment will follow services at Melwood Cemetery.
