Georganna Overton

Georganna Pollock Overton, 77, of Tucker, GA died Wednesday, August 29, 2007. A graduate of East High School, she received a degree from Wichita State University. She recently retired after 30 years of service from Emory University. She was known and loved by many there. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Tucker.  Mrs. Overton was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, David M. Overton, Sr. She is survived by daughters, Rev. Dana Overton-Garrett of Marietta, DeeAnn Morton of Norcross; sons, David M. Overton and Douglas Overton, both of Dallas, TX; granddaughters, Erica Overton of Dallas and Katelynn Garrett of Marietta; and sister, Marilyn Gattis of Wichita, KS. Funeral services will be held at Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 31st, Rev. Debbie Carlton officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
