George Calhoun Lyle, Sr. of Atlanta died Friday, October 24, 2008. He was born in Ashland, Kentucky on October 25, 1937. He has lived in the Druid Hills area of Atlanta since he was five years old. Mr. Lyle was a graduate of Georgia Military Academy (now Woodward Academy), Class of 1956. He was a member of Druid Hills Golf and Country Club. Mr. Lyle was a Parishioner, usher and a longtime member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He was a member of the Capital Area Kiwanis Club. Mr. Lyle was executive vice president/co-owner of Capitol Office Supply until his retirement in 1988. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Lyle, Sr. and Rosemary Calhoun Lyle and his brother, Jackson Crumbley Lyle, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Eva Habacon Lyle; and son, George Habacon Lyle, Jr., of Atlanta. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, October 28th at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Monsignor Paul Fogarty officiating. Entombment will follow at Westview Abbey. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 636 W. Ponce de Leon Ave., Decatur, GA 30030. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at A. S. Turner & Sons.
