George Dennis Mertzanis

George Dennis Mertzanis, 71, of Lawrenceville, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017. Born January 14, 1946, in Atlanta, he was the son of the late Dennis George and Sophie Kanes Mertzanis.

George is survived by his sons, Dennis Mertzanis and his wife, Susan Chang, and Michael Mertzanis; daughter, Angela Scully and her husband, Ed; grandsons, Anthony and John; sister, Betty Nakis and her husband, Manuel; brother, Pete Mertzanis and his wife, Mary; and many more loving family and friends.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his sister, Magdalene Caradimitropoulo.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 8, at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a cancer foundation of your choice or to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
