George Young Mehaffey

George Young Mehaffey, age 81, of Snellville passed away on February 19, 2013. He was born on July 31, 1931 in Atlanta, GA to Isaac Homer and Beulah Martha (Carr) Mehaffey. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Pat Mehaffey. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.He married Barbara Allred on June 3, 1955 and she passed on July 4, 2012. George owned and operated Mehaffey's Fine Furniture in Decatur from 1965 until his retirement in 2004. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn (Dennis) White, Tucker; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff (Cyndi) Mehaffey, Lawrenceville; brother, Charles Mehaffey, Roswell; grandson, Matthew Mehaffey, Lawrenceville. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 23 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Aycock officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
