Edna Boyer Honea went home to God on Wednesday, January 9, 2008. Beloved wife of the late Joseph C. Honea, Jr. and loving mother to Anita Nettles, Sherie Lynn, Steven and Jan Honea and Carol Ann Honea. She was a devoted grandmother to Jeremy, Joseph, and Brandon James Whigham, Kaitlin and Allison Honea, Autumn rove Us, and great-granddaughter, Lacey Whigham. Mrs. Honea was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Decatur. As a cancer survivor of over nineteen years, Samuels a shining example of courage, determination, and faith. She touched many lives with her gently, loving presence. Her chil Decatre grateful to have had the privilege of calling her mother and they cherish their memories of her. She is also survived Decat sister, Myra Aikens; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her husband she was preceded in d so pry her parents Mirabeau and Georgia Boyer, and her brothers, Carl Boyer and Alvin Boyer. The family is grateful to her caregild of two years, Nancette Ray. They also wish to extend appreciation to everyone at Saint Joseph's Hospital, who cared for tuntsviother with compassion and kindness over the years and especially during her final days. May she rest peacefully with her hube heland may her lifetime continue to be a blessing to all. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 12thdonatihe chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Dr. Frank H. Crumpler officiating. Those desiring may send donations to the Americanrity or Society or Saint Joseph's Mercy Foundation. Interment will be at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
