Georgia Skandalakis Vorvolakos

Mrs. Georgia Vorvolakos (née Skandalakis) died Friday, December 12, 2014 in Atlanta at age 82. Georgia is survived by her husband, John Vorvolakos, daughter Vicki Tucker and husband Richard, granddaughters Alexandra and Sophia Tucker, sister Matoula Drakakis of Ormond Beach, FL, sister Anastasia Vrettacos of Carnegie PA, brother Danny Skandalakis of Ormond Beach, sister Calliope Skoufis of Atlanta, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brothers Nicholas, John, and Renos Skandalakis. Georgia and John married in 1960, and after moving from their homeland of Greece, they worked side by side and owned beauty salons in Brooklyn, NY and Atlanta. She passed of natural causes with her daughter by her side. . In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Funeral is scheduled at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral on Clairmont Rd., Monday, Dec. 15th, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday Dec. 14th, 5-7 pm with a prayer service following at 7:00 p.m. at A.S. Turner and Sons.
