Geraldine Eyler Thomas of Decatur, devoted wife, loving mother and doting grandmother, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Hospice Atlanta, after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Myrtle Hawk Eyler; brothers, Charles Eyler and Denver Eyler; and by sisters, Evelyn Poore and Myree Palmer. Gerry is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, Clyde Thomas; her son and daughter-in-law, Clyde III and Jeanne Thomas, and grandson, Aaron Thomas; her daughter, Shoni Thomas, and granddaughter, Eyler Thomas; brother, Morgan Eyler; sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Bill Ward; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m., Monday, May 25, followed by the funeral service in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with her minister, Dr. Jim Ellison of Atlanta United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 26 at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
