Geraldine (Jeri) Savage Chambers

July 30, 1924 — May 30, 2007

Geraldine (Jeri) Savage Chambers of Decatur past away Wednesday, May 30, 2007. She was a member of Scott Boulevard Baptist Church for over 50 years. Mrs. Chambers retired from AGFA Corporation after 25 years where she served as Office Supervisor for both the Atlanta Sales Office and Dallas Sales Office.  She was the oldest daughter of Nellie Mae Black and David B. Savage, Sr.  She was predeceased by a little daughter, Brenda, who died in 1949. She is survived by her husband, Luther Herman Chambers; daughter, Barbara Wray and her husband Rev. James Wray of Snellville; two grandsons, Michael Wray and Kevin Wray and his wife Jessica; two sisters, Opal Cassady and Thetis Merritt; brother, David Savage, Jr. and his wife; plus several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 2 p.m. Friday, June 1st.  The body was cremated and interment of the remains will be in the Old Rehoboth Cemetery next to little Brenda. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Scott Boulevard Baptist Church, 2532 North Decatur Rd, Decatur, GA 30033.  The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 2 p.m. Friday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
