Gertrude Morris Weiser

Mrs. Gertrude Morris Weiser of Decatur died Monday, June 30, 2008. She was a retired nurse from DeKalb Medical Center and after retirement she was a volunteer for 24 years with the Hospital Auxiliary, where she worked with the "Knit-Wits", who made thousands of newborn caps. Mrs. Weiser was a 38 year member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Weiser and is survived by her sons, John Weiser, James Weiser, Chris Weiser and his wife Sandra; two grandchildren; sister, Ruth McDonnell; and brother, David Morris. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3rd, in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Msgr. Paul Fogarty officiating. Interment Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens. A Memorial Mass will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 3rd, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 630 W. Ponce de Leon Ave., Decatur, GA 30030. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
