Mrs. Gladys Ellison Wilson, of Decatur, died June 20, 2009, at age 98, after a brief illness. Mrs. Wilson is survived by her husband of 50 years, Albert B. “Al” Wilson; daughter, Carol and Bob Gardner of Decatur; granddaughter, Margaret Edwards of Brunswick; grandson, Howard Gardner of Stone Mountain; brother, Fred and Clara Ellison of Naples FL. She is also survived by step-daughter, Martha and Sprott King of Monroeville AL and step-son, Fred and Elisabeth Wilson of Alpharetta; three step-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren. Mrs. Wilson was born in Alton Park, Tennessee, and reared in Tallapoosa, Georgia. Upon graduation from high school, she attended school in New York. She was employed at Regenstein’s for eight years, and for 26 years, as executive secretary to the Operations VP of Delta Air Lines. During retirement, she volunteered with her husband delivering Meals on Wheels. She was a member of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church and was a cancer survivor of 23 years. Funeral services will be held at Rehoboth Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, June 23 at 11 o’clock with Rev. Joel Tolbert officiating. Interment, Floral Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Rehoboth Presbyterian Church, 2729 Lawrenceville Highway, Decatur, GA 30033. The family will receive friends 6-8 Monday evening at A. S. Turner and Sons.
