Gladys Elizabeth Home McDaniel, 88, of Atlanta, Georgia, died on Friday,October 3,2008. She was born on May 24,1920 in Spartanburg SC. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth F. McDaniel,brother, William Home, and sister, Peggy Haddock. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Jim McGarrah of Norcross; granddaughters and spouses Elizabeth and Seth Hathcock of Decatur and Mindy and Tommy McGarrah Sharp and great granddaughter. Lucy Claire McGarrah Sharp all of Nashville TN; sister Sarah Hopkins of Charlotte NC; brother, Robert Home of Rock Hill SC; step-daughter Carolyn Mareburger of Tulsa OK, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was retired from the
Federal Government in Washington DC. She and her husband lived many years in northern Virginia, later retiring to Florida, and then moving to Atlanta. She was a long-term member of Embry Hills United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be on Monday, October 6,2008, at 2:00 pm at Embry Hills United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Embry Hills United Methodist Church, 3304 Henderson Mill Road, Atlanta, GA 30341. The family will receive guests from 5 to 7 pm on
