Glenn Fox

May 8, 1933 — November 2, 2020

Marion Glenn Fox, Sr beloved son, brother, husband, father, Opa, and Georgia Bulldog left this life to be with the Lord on Monday November 2, 2020 in Decatur, GA.

Born on May 8, 1933 to Claud and Jewell Fox, Glenn lived his life in the metro Atlanta area. Graduating from Grady High School, he went to the University of Georgia where he pitched for the 1954 SEC championship baseball team and worked for Coach Wally Butts with the UGA football team. After graduation, he worked for the Georgia State Department of Human Resources, retiring in 1989 after a 33 year career.

He married Edith Robinson on August 14, 1962 and they remained married for 58 years until his passing. He is survived by his wife, Edie of Tucker, GA and his three sons and daughter-in-law: Glenn, Jr of California; Ken of Georgia; and Jon and Laura of Arkansas; as well as his two grandchildren, Savannah and Gideon Fox.

Glenn was a kind and quiet man. He had a love for athletics that included bowling, UGA football, and Atlanta Braves baseball. He dedicated a significant amount of his time and resources to the Morningside Lodge including serving as the Worshipful Master of the Lodge. A member of Rehoboth Baptist Church, he spent many years teaching in the Sunday School classrooms and on the baseball fields. Some will remember his unique way of adjusting his glasses when arguing with the umpires - some will remember his loyal attendance for breakfast at the Old Hickory House and lunch at the Varsity - some will remember his passion for clothes - all of us will remember his love of the Lord, the Bulldogs, and his family.

Due to the pandemic, the family will gather for a graveside service at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, GA on 10 November 2020 at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Georgia Baptist Children's Home, charity of your choice, or you may plant a beautiful tree in memory of Glenn Fox by visiting the Tribute Store.
