Major Glenn Hall, Jr., 76, of Monroe, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at his home. He was born on October 18, 1931 in Nutter Fort, West Virginia. He was the son of the late Glenn and Ava Hall. Glenn graduated from Roosevelt-Wilson High School and attended the University of Virginia, Pre-Engineering. He served his country in the U. S. Navy from 1950 – 1954, during the Korean War. He became a Salvation Army Officer in 1959 and served 39 faithful years until he retired in 1996. He is survived by his wife, Mary Kinnamont Hall, whom he married in September, 1955; four daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Norman Smith of Centerton, AR, Linda and Vincent Honeycutt of Monroe, Cheryl and Tim King of Sugar Hill, and Donna and Todd Merrifield of Monroe; one precious grandson, Ozzie Merrifield; and one precious granddaughter, Nicole Honeycutt. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 2, 2008 in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 12 Noon with Major John Jordan officiating and Lt. Colonel David Mulbarger speaking.
