Glenn J. Baldwin (AKA Mr. B.), age 86, of Atlanta, GA passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Marjorie A. Baldwin; daughter, Rene Ebersole, Plant city, FL; sons, Dennis Baldwin, Atlanta, GA and Jay Baldwin, Miami, FL; four step children, Debra Newcomb, North Bend/Coos Bay, OR, Richard Woods, Washington, DC, Jeffery Woods, Nassau, Bahamas, and Christopher Woods, Atlanta, GA; and seven grandchildren. Mr. Baldwin was born November 21, 1922 in Scranton, PA. He served three years in the US Army and participated in the invasion of Normandy. He was decorated with five battle stars and awarded the Croix de Guerre by General Charles de Gaulle. During his adult life he was a Real Estate Developer in the Bahamas; Educator and Publisher; Transportation and Travel Agency Executive; and operated nine Budget Rent A Car franchises in Maryland, Virginia, Georgia and Alabama. Mr. Baldwin introduced and developed the first dinner club coupon book (2 for 1) in 1963. He was a lifetime member of the Laceyville, PA Franklin Masonic Lodge and American Legion Post 1 in Atlanta, GA. He served on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Convention Bureau (4 terms) and served as President and Chairman of Airport Ground Transportation Association (3 terms). Mr. Baldwin was an Arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau of Atlanta. He was presented with a lifetime membership in the NAACP by the National President and was presented with an award for outstanding achievement in the Partnerships in Education program in Georgia.
