Gloria Roland LeVert, age 88, died Saturday, February 6th, 2021 at her home in Dunwoody, GA surrounded by her husband and daughters.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years, James A. LeVert; daughters, Randalyn LeVert Smith (Tommy), Penny LeVert Gardner (Russell), and Cathy LeVert Paulen (Jeff); 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Gloria was born July 27, 1932 in Atlanta and remained there her entire life, graduating from Bass High School in 1950. She was an active member of Dunwoody United Methodist Church and the Crusaders Sunday school class. She retired from the Federal Government, Comptroller of the Currency Department in 1992. Gloria and Jim were founding members of the Gresham Park Boating Club. She was crowned Mrs. Senior Georgia in 1998 and won 3 gold medals for the Senior Olympics in swimming. She was a member of the Classic Club that entertained at various senior living facilities.
Gloria was very active enjoying many activities such as dancing, synchronized swimming, snow and water skiing and traveling. One of Gloria's best qualities was her attraction to children and their attraction to her. Everybody loved Gloria. She had a beautiful smile and a compliment for everyone.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, Feb. 12th at 2:00 pm at the Historic Oakland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations in Gloria's memory be made to Agape Hospice, 1395 S. Marietta Pkwy., Bldg. 750, Suite 730, Marietta, Ga. 30067.
