Golden Cole Marrett

Mrs. Goldie was born May 6, 1921 in the city of Commerce, GA. She attended public school, graduating in 1939. She was diligent and worked after school hours and weekends for $1.00 a day while attending business school at night.

On December 23rd, 1949 she was married to J.B. Marrett, who bought their first home which they later sold to Dekalb County to help expand roads of the growing city.

She took the "Civil Service Test" and made a 92. She went on to work at the CDC for 20 years. She enjoyed activities as the Worthy Matron & the Royal Matron and was also a part of the Order of Amaranth & the President of AARP.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. in the Chapel of A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Grey Hill Cemetery in Commerce.
