Gordon Ellis Garrett

Gordon Ellis Garrett, age 85, died August 16, 2014. A native of Atlanta, Mr. Garrett was U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was retired from Western Union Telegraph. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Durrell and Bessie Beryl Ellis Garrett. He is survived by a sister, Fay Garrett Bellah of Stockbridge; sister in law, Bertha Lee Garrett of Austell; nephew, Gordon D. Garrett of Mableton; great nephew, Hugh A. Garrett and his spouse, Robin, of Mableton; three great nieces: Sara Anne Garrett and Laura Beth Garrett, both of Cartersville, and Deidra Lynn Garrett and her spouse, Brian Brezk, both of Powder Springs; four great-great nephews: Zack Lagano, Jesse Lagano, Jake Brezk, and Grant Brezk; and two great-great nieces: Julia Lagano and Hannah Lagano. The family will receive friends at 11:30 AM Tuesday at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home, 2773 N. Decatur Road, Decatur, GA 30033. Services will be held at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at 3:15 PM at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta.
