Mr. Guy Edward Adair, R. Ph., 89, of Decatur died Tuesday, May 31, 2011. He was predeceased by his wife, Jacqueline Wilson Adair. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Steven & Jan Adair of Mt. Dora, FL, daughter and son-in-law, Denise & Richard Glad of Clarkston, GA, sister Nell Ashendorf of Smyrna, GA, grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Mason C. & Dlorah Glad of Slidell, LA. Also surviving are several great-grandchildren. He served in the Pacific in World War II and was a resident of Decatur for over 50 years. A graduate of Southern School of Pharmacy (now a part of Mercer University) he was employed with Marshall & Bell Pharmacy for over 50 years. A celebration of his life will be Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Dr. Peter Rhea Jones officiating. Family requests contributions in his name to the American Cancer Society, 2970 Clairmont Road, N.E., Atlanta, GA 30329 or the Alzheimer's Association, 2915 Century Blvd., Suite 10, Atlanta, GA 30345. The family will receive friends on Thursday one hour prior to the service at A.S. Turner & Sons.
