Harry Chandler Walker, Jr., 81, of Atlanta, Georgia, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully on November 29, 2017. Born August 8, 1936 in Atlanta, he was the son of the late Dr. Harry Chandler Walker, Sr. and Emily Willard Walker. Harry earned his Eagle Scout Badge at age 13 and attended Decatur High School, Clemson and Georgia State Universities. He was a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves and served two terms as President of the Jonesboro Kiwanis Club. Harry made his career with AT&T from 1956-1993, where he served in numerous upper level management positions within AT&T Headquarters. He was also a deacon at Emory Baptist Church.
Harry is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie Holcomb Walker; daughter, Debbie Durnwald and her husband, Mike; grandsons, Zachary and Brandon; sisters, Mary Francis Stovall and Joree Hill; and many more loving family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 - 7:00 p.m. Saturday, December 2, at A.S. Turner & Sons. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 3, in the chapel of A.S. Turners. Private interment will be held at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
