Hazel Francine Merritt

Mrs. Hazel Francine Merritt passed away peacefully at home on January 4, 2022.

Hazel was born on September 1, 1925 in Glenwood Georgia to parents Ocie and Sally Roland.
After graduating from high school she moved to Atlanta where she met her late husband of 42 years Albert Merritt.
She was the proud and loving mother to her late son Ashley Merritt (Linda), daughters Gail Jones (Jerry) and Pam Herbert (Richard). She had a fun and loving relationship with her five grand children. Shane Jones, Trace Jones, Blake Jones, Scott Merritt, and her only granddaughter Alix Bell. She was also Nana to her seven great grandchildren Taylor, Regan, Lillie, Nolan, Sydney, Kiley, and Ashton. She also leaves behind her loving brother, James Roland (Wanda).

Hazel retired from Oxford industries in 1993 after 33 years of dedicated service to a company she loved and was well loved in return.

Hazel lit up a room like sunshine in the morning. Her open heart, great laugh, fun personality and a spirit like no other earned her the love, friendships, respect and admiration from so many.
