Hedwig (Hedy) Rooney

Hedwig (Hedi) Eva Rooney, age 95 of Decatur, GA passed away July 1, 2004.  She was born December 31, 1908 in Pittsburgh, PA.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Rooney, Sr. in 1969.  Mrs. Rooney was the oldest of seven children and the last of her siblings to pass away.  After retiring from business at age 74, she moved from Pittsburgh, PA to Decatur, GA.  She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Atlanta and was active in several volunteer organizations.  Mrs. Rooney was gifted with a love for arts and crafts. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Charles W. and Ellen Rooney of Decatur, GA, Thomas Francis and Beverly Rooney of Anaheim Hills, CA; daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte A. and Edmund Ladouceur of Colorado Springs, CO, Mary Jane and William Hartz of Pittsburgh, PA; seven grandchildren, Lawrence Ladouceur, Christy Stettler, Therese Ladouceur, Julie McDonald, Joan Rooney, Jill Ziegler and Martha Milam; seven great grandchildren, Kayla and Jenna Ladouceur; Mackenzie, Joshua, and Cooper Milam; Sydney Ziegler and Clay McDonald.  A Mass of Christian  Remembrance will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Atlanta.  Graveside services will be on July 23, 2004 at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA.  The family requests that memorials be made in the form of visits to the homebound and nursing home residents.
